Urban Squares - Gallery image #1
Urban Squares is a series of photographs that explores Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester and the people and wildlife that pass through this area. 
In keeping with the development of most cities, the centre of Manchester has grown and spread into the last remaining natural spaces, wrapping itself around nature. The tree in the photographs is juxtaposed to the stark environment as the only natural colour in this contemporary urban landscape, the leaf canopy hangs heavy supported by the resilient trunk that appears to stand still with the passing of time. The concrete city battlements face a long war with the elements and the scars of this conflict are already starting to show.
